Therapy for Actors and Musicians
Nashville is home to a robust creative community. Despite its reputation as "Music City," however, life in Nashville isn't always easy for local actors, singers, songwriters and other artists.
The storytellers who keep this city alive deserve access to culturally competent mental health support. As if being vulnerable for a living wasn't taxing enough, if you're an artist the odds are pretty good that you're also no stranger to other challenges like:
-
Financial insecurity
-
Job scarcity
-
Alcohol and other substance-related issues
-
Interpersonal problems
-
Long-distance relationships
-
Lack of familial support
-
Burnout

In our current cultural and political landscape, it can feel like an uphill battle trying to create meaningful art while navigating unprecedented economic and professional uncertainty. How do we continue engaging in the creative process when we're too busy trying to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads? While some systemic factors are certainly outside of our control, there are still plenty of tools and resources available to help local artists cope more effectively with the day-to-day challenges they face.
As a proud member of the local creative community, I am extremely familiar with many of the most pressing issues performers and other artists face on a daily basis. I hold a BFA in Musical Theatre from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, so I also have lived experience navigating the rigor of an arts-related higher education curriculum. That's why I specialize in offering therapy for actors, as well as therapy for Nashville musicians.
Whether you're a Belmont student trying to launch a music career while juggling school and survival or a life-long performer trying to manage the cumulative effects of a career in the arts, I'd love to support you in your journey.
